Godolphin runner Hauraki has returned to racing in slick form this time and remains clear $3 favourite in 2016 Hollindale Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, having cut in from an opening quote of $3.50.

Hauraki has been a strong and consistent performer through his entire racing career so far; posting a commendable three wins and six minors through fifteen competitive starts.

Running second to Mongolian Khan in the Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m) most notably in 2015, the Reset gelding resumed this time for third place finishes in each of the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m).

Running second to The United States in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m), Hauraki was unable to match the late pace when seventh in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) most recently, but will relish a step back in class for the 2016 Hollindale Stakes.

Stable mate Old North is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Hollindale Stakes betting markets but remains sole occupant of the second line at a quote of $5.50 for success.

Claiming three wins and a minor through his short but impressive seven start career so far, Old North resumed this time for success in the Café Culture + Insitu BM67 (1400m) before making a commendable transition to black type racing when fourth in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) on March 12th.

Charging home to win the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) on March 26th, the Lonhro colt ran a close second in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) last time out.

Drawn on the rails, Old North will be partnered by in-form hoop Tim Clark for the first time on Saturday, and will carry a race-low 56.5kgs.

Local hope Sir Moments charged home to finish a close second in last year’s edition of the Hollindale Stakes and continues to occupy the third line of betting at a particularly generous quote of $8.50.

Sir Moments has been the stable star for Steve O’Dea through his entire racing career so far; posting eight wins and five minors through a total of twenty-two competitive starts; highlighted by five black type titles.

Resuming this time for second in the Gold Coast Stakes (1200m) on March 12th, the Choisir gelding progressed to fourth in the Makers Mark Handicap (1350m) and success in the Qpos Handicap (1350m) before placing third in the Listed Tails Stakes (1600m) on April 23rd.

Spiritjim ($9) and Excess Knowledge ($9.50) interestingly figure as the only other runners currently available at Hollindale Stakes odds of less than $10, while It’s Somewhat ($12) represents particularly good value at his current quote.
