Arabian Gold ($4.80) was a standout over the 2014 edition of the Brisbane Winter Carnival and has opened as outright favourite in 2015 Hollindale Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Silent Achiever ($5), Hooked and third emergency runner Pornichet; currently sharing the third line at generous $6.50 odds.

Will Arabian Gold justify favouritism and return to the winner’s circle in the 2015 Hollindale Stakes, or will one her of many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

Moriarty ($7.50)

A proven performer over the distance and at the Queensland way of going, Moriarty is positioned well to find ideal running room early in barrier 9 and offers punters amazing value at current Hollindale Stakes odds of $7.50. Posting thirteen wins and as many minor place finishes through his 53 career starts so far, the Clodovil gelding won the Group 3 Craven Plate (2000m) most notably through the Sydney Spring Carnival; travelling to Perth in summer for third in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) before breaking through for a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m). Having returned this time for eighth in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) on March 21st, Moriarty will relish a step-up to 1800m and will be very hard to beat.

Silent Achiever ($5)

A four-time Group 1 winner, Silent Achiever received a brief freshen-up following her most recent run of sixth in the Group 1 The BMW (2400m) on March 28th and is reportedly in peak condition ahead of the 2015 Hollindale Stakes. Winning each of the Group 1 New Zealand Stakes (2000m), Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and The BMW through the 2014 Autumn Carnival, the O’reilly mare ended her spring preparation third in the Cox Plate (2040m) and ran fourth in both the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) and Ranvet leading into her most recent run for sixth. Needing some luck from barrier 12, Silent Achiever’s chances of success this weekend will surely be boosted by renowned hoop Kerrin McEvoy.

Foreteller ($10)

A Group 1 winner over 1600m, 1800m and 2000m, the conditions of the Hollindale Stakes are sure to play into the strengths of Foreteller who is yet to return to the winner’s circle over four starts this campaign. Returning in spring in commendable form, the Dansili gelding ran fourth in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) and third in the Group 2 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) before returning to the winner’s circle in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) most notably on September 20th. Allocated barrier 10, Foreteller will find good position within the field before a late charge.
