Silent Achiever Primed for 2015 Hollindale Stakes Success

April 23rd, 2015

Four-time Group 1 winner Silent Achiever has been unable to return to the winner’s circle since a standout campaign through the 2014 Autumn Carnival, however trainer Roger James is confident she will be offered her best chance to date in Saturday’s featured Group 2 Hollindale Stakes (1800m) on the Gold Coast.

Posting ten wins and a further six minor places through her 34 career starts to date, Silent Achiever has steadily built to the task over four starts this time; running fifth in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) first-up and fourth in each of the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) and Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) before a luckless run for sixth in the Group 1 The BMW (2400m) last time out.

Allocated the somewhat wide and awkward barrier 13 (likely to cut into 11 following the removal of emergencies), James told the Courier Mail he is pleased with the O’reilly mare’s condition and believes the conditions of the 2015 Hollindale Stakes will play into her strengths on Saturday.

“I think she was racing to her form in Sydney but she just couldn’t get her toe in the ground how she likes,” James said.

“She won the Ranvet and BMW on slow and heavy tracks last year but this year they were on firmer ground. She wasn’t disgraced by any means but the cut in the ground does make a difference to her.

“She just did a little bit of steady work (in Brisbane on Wednesday). She wasn’t out to break the clock.

“She’s very fit. Even though she’s a month between runs, fitness won’t be an issue because she was at her peak in Sydney.”

Silent Achiever undoubtedly found career-best form to date through the 2014 Autumn Carnival; preceding her consecutive wins in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 The BMW (2400m) with success in the Group 1 New Zealand Stakes (2000m).

Posting several commendable results through autumn, undoubtedly highlighted by a close third in the major Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m), Silent Achiever is currently available at a generous quote of $5 for success in the 2015 Hollindale Stakes with leading online bookie
