The 2011 Hollindale Stakes is really shaping as fascinating contest and it looks like a great event to kick start the Group racing in South-East Queensland this year.
On paper there are a few names which stand out well above the rest but when you actually delve into the Hollindale Stakes form guide you see that there isn’t a horse in the field which is disgraced and you could probably argue a case for just about all of them.
Never discount the local horses as Queensland trainers know how to lift their runners for the Winter Carnival and there will be no easy victories up here.
The form of My Kingdom Of Fife is outstanding and very hard to ignore but you have to ask yourself how long can the fairy tale go on?
Speaking of fairy tales a win for Scenic Shot would be just that with the old timer coming back to Brisbane to stick it to the young guns once again.
Throw into the mix some horses we really haven’t seen a lot of and the 2011 Hollindale Stakes is going to be a spectacular event.

2011 Hollindale Stakes Form Guide
#1 – Scenic Shot (Barrier – 3) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Daniel Morton
- Jockey: Shane Scriven
- Career Stats: 63s – 16w – 12p
- Last Start: 1st at Eagle Farm
Eight-year-old warhorse which loves Queensland and still has plenty in the tank. Coming off a win last start over a few of his rivals her.

#2 – Triple Honour (Barrier – 9) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Chris Waller
- Jockey: Jim Cassidy
- Career Stats: 42s – 7w – 11p
- Last Start: 9th at Randwick
This horse has claimed over $2 million in prize money and returned well with a third behind Black Caviar and Hay List first up. Ran 9th of nine last start though so big question mark.

#3 – Shoot Out (Barrier – 1) (59kgs)
- Trainer: John Wallace
- Jockey: Corey Brown
- Career Stats: 21s – 7w – 5p
- Last Start: 5th at Randwick
Hasn’t got up to speed so far this year but the longer distance should suit. Looks on the improve but his runs have been strange since resuming in 2011.

#4 – Heart Of Dreams (Barrier – 4) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Mick Price
- Jockey: Damien Oliver
- Career Stats: 25s – 6w – 10p
- Last Start: 3rd at Randwick
Third behind Hay List last start isn’t bad form for a horse that’s always been fairly consistent. Can handle a bit of give in the track too which could be a factor.

#5 – Dao Dao (Barrier – 5) (59kgs)
- Trainer: M, W & J Hawkes
- Jockey: Dwayne Dunn
- Career Stats: 26s – 7w – 11p
- Last Start: 12th at Randwick
Started off the year full of promise with some good placings but fell away completely last start. Needs huge improvement but the seven-year-old may find it tough.

#6 – Our Lukas (Barrier – 10) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Robert Heathcote
- Jockey: Larry Cassidy
- Career Stats: 45s – 12w – 10p
- Last Start: 2nd at Eagle Farm
Was only beaten narrowly last start by Scenic Shot so by that run he has to be a chance. Record over this distance isn’t good but he improves after a couple of runs.

#7 – My Kingdom Of Fife (Barrier – 7) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Chris Waller
- Jockey: Nash Rawiller
- Career Stats: 21s – 5w – 8p
- Last Start: 1st at Randwick
Forget his overall record, this horses form in Australia is impeccable. Two starts for two wins against quality fields. Here’s the favourite and a deserved one at that.

#8 – Glass Harmonium (Barrier – 6) (59kgs)
- Trainer: Michael Moroney
- Jockey: Hugh Bowman
- Career Stats: 12s – 3w – 2p
- Last Start: 12th at Sha Tin
Irish horse which has experience at international level. Last start may have been a 12th but it was in the Hong Kong Cup so tricky form. Has to be a chance, how big of one? No idea.

#9 – Bugsytwoshoes (Barrier – 2) (59kgs)
- Trainer: David Kelly
- Jockey: Mathew Palmer
- Career Stats: 41s – 5w – 12p
- Last Start: 3rd at Eagle Farm
Third behind Scenic Shot last start but he will appreciate the jump in distance. Was less than half a length off them in that run and showed he is a much better horse than the $51 odds given.

#10 – Femina Fashion (Barrier – 8) (57kgs)
- Trainer: Trevor Whittington
- Jockey: Damian Browne
- Career Stats: 25s – 6w – 3p
- Last Start: 1st at Doomben
Last start win gets her here but it’s a big jump in class. She’s actually three from three over this distance with two of those runs at this track so the stats say she’s not without hope.
