The second day of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival will go ahead this Saturday at the illustrious Gold Coast Racecourse, in the form of the Hollindale Stakes Day, and will be host to eight fantastic races.

Headlining the day’s proceedings is the $300,000 Group 2 Lincom Pacific Equipment A.D. Hollindale Stakes (1800m) which is due to jump at 3.50pm with 14 classy starters.

The Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) winner drew barrier three, tipping the race in the horses favour with the talented Stathi Katsidis aboard.

Last year’s winner of the Hollindale Stakes – Fulmonti, returns to the track for this year’s edition, and the Doomben-based gelding will start from barrier five.

Sir Slick returns to the carnival for his second appearance in the Queensland carnival, and the Graeme Nicholson-trained starter will begin from barrier 12.

Locally-based Pepperwood drew the coveted inside barrier, while Rothera will start from out wide at barrier 14, after winning two of his last three starts.

Also taking place alongside the 2010 Hollindale Stakes will be the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) and four other Listed races.
